The CD you received from certSIGN contains all the components required for installing and using the digital certificate. To install them, follow these few steps:
1. DO NOT connect the USB device to your computer yet!
2. Insert the CD you received from certSIGN in your computer's optical drive and in the window that appears on your screen, tick the checkbox DO NOT connect the USB device to your computer yet! - Download driver Gemalto USB Smart Card Reader Driver version 4.1.4.0, v.4.1.3.1, v.4.1.3.0, v.4.1.2.1 for Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 32-bit (x86), 64-bit (x64).
- Updating the Driver - Example is for an SCR-331. Windows 10 & 8.1 - Right Click Computer, Select Properties. Click the Device Manager link (on the left side of your screen) Select the triangle next to Smart Card Readers. Right click the SCRx31 USB Reader, select Update Driver software. Browse my computer.

- It is not a memory stick.
- It is a cryptographic device (token) that can only store your digital certificate and its keys.
- To prevent anyone else from using your digital certificate, your token is protected by a PIN Code. This PIN Code is printed in the letter you received from certSIGN. See example...(opens in new tab)
- Remember your PIN Code and do not disclose it to anyone!
- Your token will lock if you enter the wrong PIN Code 3 consecutive times. To unlock it, follow the steps described in the chapter Unlocking the device
- Do not delete any object from your token! If you delete the certificate or its keys, you will need to buy a new certificate.
